Subject: 2-25-25 THOUGHTS

2-25-25    THOUGHTS

In HOPE... thinking about “life after death”  should be filled with elation!  I believe we olders understand this more than the youngers, and rightfully so.  Our reading was chosen to give us information from God about this subject.  Don’t try to know more than you CAN know, but know what you CAN and be glad in it!  Our God has treated us so wonderfully.  Rom 8:18  “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”  1Cor 2:9b  "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND [which] HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."

1John 3:1-3    See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.  3  And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
1Cor 15:42-49    So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.  47  The first man is of the earth, earthy:
the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.                             [The larger context is 1Cor 15:35-58]

My Prayer:

Thank You, O Father, for the things You have in store for those who love You.  You have given us an alive hope,  and exceeding great and precious promises.  You’ve told  us we can become partakers of  Your divine nature.  Remove worldly lust from us, O God.  Help us to be settled and centered on Jesus, that our hearts may yearn for You.  How majestic is Your name!

We pray in Jesus,   Amen.
